The earliest era of commercial displays was essentially the digital poster — printed promotional material converted to image loops on LCD panels. The interaction model was identical to that of a printed billboard: the display broadcast, the viewer consumed. There was no feedback loop, no personalization, no intelligence. It was a digital canvas, efficient at scale but fundamentally one-directional.

Phase 2: The Awakening of Spatial Aesthetics (2018–2023)

Frame space screens marked a philosophical shift — from treating displays as equipment to treating them as elements of spatial design. The screen was no longer a machine bolted to a wall; it became an integral component of the interior, with wood-grain bezels, ultra-slim profiles, and anti-glare finishes that harmonized with high-end architecture. This was the moment commercial displays graduated from utility to experience.

Phase 3: Interaction Capability Upgrade (2023–2025)

Interaction moved beyond the touchscreen. Gesture-interactive frame screens enabled contact-free operation in healthcare, dining, and public wayfinding — practical, hygienic, and memorable. Meanwhile, dynamic backlight frame screens achieved near-OLED contrast performance on LCD platforms, closing the visual quality gap that had long separated commercial displays from consumer premium televisions.

Phase 4: AI Empowerment (2025–Present)

The AI digital human frame screen represents the cutting edge. These systems integrate conversational AI with lifelike digital avatars — capable of contextual understanding, multi-turn dialogue, and basic emotion recognition. They are already deployed in hotel lobbies, bank branches, and government service halls, handling complex visitor inquiries, guiding customers through multi-step processes, and providing service with 24/7 availability. The screen is no longer just a display; it is an intelligent presence.

The Future: Full-Space Intelligent Display

Looking toward 2027–2028, the vision extends beyond individual screens. Multiple frame screens within a single space will operate as a coordinated system — AI will analyze foot traffic patterns, interpret customer emotions and intent, and dynamically orchestrate content and interaction modes across every display in real time. The result will be an environment that responds intelligently to the people moving through it, transforming commercial spaces into truly adaptive experiences.
